A look at the features and prices of top 10 budget QWERTY phones for this festive season.
There was a time when a mobile handset used to come with an antenna to catch the tower! Remember your first handset? It was not only bulky and heavy, but was also not good look-wise? Well, gone are those days and the mobile handset industry has eventually travelled a long way to reach where it is today!
Antennas gone, came the sleeker and good-looking mobiles with better keypads for easier texting.
Handsets like Nokia 3310, Samsung N700, etc have ruled over the market for long and are still considered among the best of phones.

Nokia launched its entry-level budget QWERTY mobile E63 mainly for the text-addicts. This plastic body bar handset is 113x59x13 mm in size and weighs 126g. It has a 320 X 240 pixels 2.36" colour TFT screen and a 1600 X 1200 pixels with inbuilt 2 Megapixel camera.
Interestingly, the camera has a zoom and a flash along with several setting features.
Video recording option is available with resolution 320x240 15 fps and it supports video formats of 3GPP and MPEG 4/H.263.
Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS, EDGE and 3G are enabled in the handset. The inbuilt memory is not so huge with 110 MB but it is expandable to 8GB.
With games, java and flash lite loaded in the phone and a very good battery backup (as usual for Nokia phones), the Symbian OS handset quite rightfully stands at the top of budget QWERTY phone list.

Targetted mainly for the young bunch, this QWERTY phone has a Google text messenger, 7 social networking sites links, chat style MMS to name a few alluring features.
The bar phone measures 112x59.6x12.9mm and weighs 94g. The 2.2" TFT LCD screen is 176 x 220 pixels in size and comes with a 2 Megapixel camera having a resolution of 1600 X 1200.
The mobile has a Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE and WAP 2.0 Internet browsing facilities available. It has an inbuilt memory of 40MB and option for expanding it.
