Prakash Industries Ltd, a diversified business house with interests in mining , steel and power today announced its financial results for second quarter ended September 30, 2007.

Second Quarter Financial Performance Overview FY 2007-08:
During the quarter the company showed impressive results. The total income from operations has increased by 40.16%, to Rs 329.76crores as against Rs Rs235.27 crores reported in the corresponding period last year. EBIDTA increased by 41.79% and stood at Rs 67.59 crs in the second quarter of the current year as against Rs 47.67crs in the corresponding period last year. PAT is up by 74% at Rs 54.63 crs as against Rs31.34 crs in the corresponding period in the previous year. Earning per share (EPS) up by 74.23% at Rs 5.00 in the second quarter as compared to Rs 2.87

Great Offshore's PAT up by 28% to Rs 4961 lacs in
In line with the growth in the E&P sector, the Company has achieved a growth of 20% in income from Operations to Rs.15233 lacs in Q2 FY 2007-08 from Rs.12705 lacs in Q2 in FY 2006-07. Correspondingly, the PAT has gone up by 28% to Rs.4961 lacs in Q2 FY 2007-08 from Rs.3879 lacs in Q2 FY 2006-07.The Company has 40 vessels as on September 30, 2007 as against 36 vessels as on September 30, 2006.

Garware Offshore registers 427% growth in net profit
Highlights:
· Total Income for the quarter ended September 2007, stood at Rs. 44.07 crores
· Profit After Tax for the quarter ended September 2007, at Rs. 23.53 crores
· EPS for the quarter ending September 2007 increased by 398%
· Starts work in the spot market and was awarded contract on short term basis at a charter rate which is approx. 50% higher.

Granules India Q1FY08 Net Sales up 10% at Rs 50cr
Granules India Ltd., one of the world’s largest Pharmaceutical Formulation Intermediate (PFI) manufacturers, witnessed a rise in its net sales by 10 per cent to Rs. 50.03 crores for the Q1FY08 ended 30th September 2007 as compared to the corresponding period last year which was at Rs.45.38 crores. During the quarter, the company has improved its margins. PBT (Profit before tax) margins in absolute terms increased to Rs 2.76 crores compared to Rs 2.5 crores in the corresponding period of last year.

During the Q1FY08 ended 30th September 2007, the company has made a net profit of Rs. 2.02 crores as against Rs. 2.04 crores in the corresponding quarter of last year. The marginal decline is because of rupee appreciation and change in tax laws for EOU units.

IHCL Q2 revenues up by 14% PAT up by 16%
IHCL reported a turnover of Rs 366.61 crores for quarter-ended Setember 30,2007, which was higher than the turnover of the corresponding quarter of the preceding year by 14%. The turnover for the half year ended September 30,2007 at Rs 731.01 crores grew by 18% over the turnover reported for the corresponding period of the preceding year.

Petronet LNG net up 74.31% in Sep`07 qtr

Petronet LNG registered a stupendous 74.31% growth in net profit to Rs 1,155.11 million, for the quarter ended September 2007, as against Rs 660.37 million, for the corresponding quarter last year.Net sales for the quarter stood to Rs 16,705.04 million.Total income for the quarter rose 21.68% to Rs 16,826.44 million, from Rs 13,827.81 million in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. The earnings per share (EPS) of the company stood at Rs 1.54 in the quarter ended September 2007.

Hexaware Q3 consolidated net falls 22.39%

Hexaware Technologies, a leading provider of IT & BPO services globally, registered a drop 22.39% in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended September 2007. During the quarter, the company saw a fall in consolidated net profit to Rs 269.16 million from Rs 346.84 million in the same quarter of the previous year. The consolidated total income for the quarter climbed 12.85% to Rs 2,632.54 million compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago.

NDTV Q2 loss widens 21.61%

Leading broadcaster of news channels, New Delhi Television (NDTV) on Wednesday reported that the loss for the quarter ended September 2007 widened. During the quarter, the company saw a rise of 21.61% in net loss to Rs 39.50 million from a loss of Rs 32.48 million in the same quarter, last year. The company posted loss per share of Rs 0.63 in the quarter. The net income from services for the quarter surged 46.48% to Rs 677.70 million, while the total income for the quarter jumped 45.87% to Rs 679.10 million, when compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago

Trent net rises 13.10% in Sep `07 qtr

Trent, apart of the Tata Group disclosed a phenomenal jump in net profit for the quarter ended September 2007. During the quarter, the company experienced a 13.10% rise in profit to Rs 91.33 million, from Rs 80.27 million in the quarter ended September 2006.Net sales for the quarter fell marginally 0.66% to Rs 1,194.92 million, compared with Rs 1,202.92 million in the corresponding quarter, a year ago. Total income rose 22.36% to Rs 1,256.79 million for the quarter ended September 2007 from Rs 1,246.42 million for the same period last year.

Tanla Solutions net up 8.07% for Sep`07 qtr (Q-o-Q)

Hyderabad-based Tanla (Q, N,C,F)* Solutions, a provider of telecommunications software and services, registered 8.07% increase in net profit to Rs 210.46 million for the second quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007 as against Rs 194.74 million in preceding quarter (Q1). Net sales for the quarter ended September 2007 rose 22.30% to Rs 316.50 million as against Rs 258.79 million during the June 2007.

Indoco Remedies net rises 73.09% in Sep `07 qtr

Indoco Remedies, engaged in the manufacturing, marketing and distribution of pharmaceutical products, disclosed a phenomenal jump in net profit for the quarter ended September 2007. During the quarter, the company experienced a 73.09% rise in profit to Rs 220.7 million from Rs 127.50 million in the quarter ended September 2006.Net sales for the quarter rose 24.93% to Rs 1,003.20 million compared with Rs 803 million in the corresponding quarter, a year ago. Total income rose 22.76% to Rs 1,025.70 million for the quarter ended September 2007 from Rs 835.5 million for the same period last year.

Noida Toll Bridge Company registered 3.79 times growth in net profit to Rs 81.83 million for the second quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007 as against Rs 21.54 million in the same period last year. Net sales for the quarter ended September 2007 rose 49.47% to Rs 171.81 million as against Rs 114.94 million during the September 2006.Total income rose 49.10% to Rs 172.74 million during the quarter from Rs 115.85 million in the same period last year.

Kavveri Telecom net climbs 3.65 times in Sep`07 qtr

Kavveri Telecom Products registered a 3.65 times growth in net profit to Rs 51.00 million, for the quarter ended September 2007, compared with Rs 13.96 million in the corresponding quarter, last fiscal.Net sales for the quarter increased 3.75 times, to Rs 403.97 million, as compared with Rs 107.68 million for the same quarter, a year ago.
Total income for the quarter also rose, 3.75 times to Rs 404.64 million, as against Rs 107.87 million for the corresponding quarter, a year ago.


Indian Bank net rises 46.37% in Sep`07 qtr

Chennai-based, Indian Bank (Q, N,C,F)* disclosed a phenomenal jump in net profit, for the quarter ended September 2007. During the quarter, the company experienced a 46.37% rise in profit to Rs 2,476 million from Rs 1,691.90 million in the same quarter, last year.
Total income rose 26.93% to Rs 14,931.40 million for the quarter ended September 2007, from Rs 11,763.10 million for the same period, a year ago.
On Quarter on Quarter basis, the bank reported a growth of 16.77% in its net profit. Its net profit for the reporting quarter stood at Rs 2,476 million, as compared to Rs 2,120.30 million in the previous quarter, ended June 2007.


Jaiprakash Associates Q2 net climbs 15.56%

Jaiprakash Associates reported a growth of 15.56% in net profit for the quarter ended September 2007. During the quarter, the company experienced a rise in profit to Rs 1,040 million from Rs 900 million in the same quarter, last year.Net sales for the quarter climbed 14.11% to Rs 8,620 million, while total income for the quarter rose 11.95% to Rs 9,220 million, when compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago. Sasken Comm. net up 22% for Sep`07 qtr


Sasken Communication Technologies announced a 21.90% rise in net profit at Rs 140.08 million for the quarter ended September 2007 as compared with Rs 114.92 million for the quarter ended, September 2006.
Operating income for the quarter rose 12.30% to Rs 1,050.11 million as against Rs 935.07 million in the same quarter of the previous year.
Total income increased to Rs 1,129.08 million, for the quarter ended September 2007, from Rs 947.43 million for the quarter ended September 2006.


KLG Systel Q2 net soars 3.12 times

KLG Systel reported a phenomenal growth of 3.12 times in net profit for the second quarter ended September 2007. During the quarter, the company saw a rise in net profit to Rs 125.68 million from Rs 40.29 million in the same quarter of the previous year.
Substantial rise in operating margins together with phenomenal revenue growth rate helped the company to report excellent growth in earnings. Operating margins increased to 32.11% during the quarter compared with 26.64% in the corresponding quarter, a year ago. The net sales for the quarter jumped 2.44 times to Rs 571.47 million, while total income for the quarter surged 2.42 times to Rs 574.92 million, when compared with the corresponding quarter, a year ago.
