Reliance Comm (cons.) net up 86% in Q2 (Update)

Reliance Communications on a consolidated basis posted a 85.75% jump in net profit at Rs 13045.70 million for the quarter ended September 2007, as compared to Rs 7,023.40 million for the same quarter last year.Total Income increased 29.85% to Rs 45,785.30 million for the quarter ended September 2007, as against Rs 35259.80 million for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Reliance Communications, on a standalone basis posted 73.53% rise in profit of Rs 8,012.40 million for the quarter ended September 2007, as compared to Rs 4617.20 million for the quarter ended September 2006.

Net Sales rose to Rs 33,283.90 million for the quarter as compared to Rs 28,231.90 million a year ago.Total Income increased 17.28% to Rs 33,292.10 million for the quarter ended September 2007 from Rs 28387.20 million for the quarter ended September 2006.The diluted EPS stood at Rs 3.71 for the quarter.

STC net dips 41.57% in Sep`07 qtr


State Trading Corporation of India reported 41.57% decline in net profit to Rs 106.10 million for the quarter ended September 2007, as against Rs 181.60 million for the quarter ended September 2006.Net sales declined 1.74% to Rs 35,333.90 million in the quarter ended September 2007, from Rs 35,961.80 million for the quarter ended September 2006.

Tata Motors, top passenger car maker, reported better-then-expected 19.27% growth in net profit at Rs 5,268.40 million for the September 2007 quarter as compared with Rs 4,417.20 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter stood almost flat at Rs 66,726.50 million, as compared with Rs 65,717.90 for the quarter ended September 2006

Canara Bank Q2 earnings climb 11%

Essar Steel Q2 net falls marginally by 1.51%
Essar Steel registered a marginal fall of 1.51% in net profit for the quarter ended September 2007, due to 171 basis points fall in operating margin.During the quarter, the company saw a fall in net profit to Rs 1,520.10 million from Rs 1,543.40 million in the same quarter of the previous year. Earnings per share for the quarter fell 28.26% Rs 1.32 compared with the same quarter previous year.

Prithvi Information Q2 earnings climb 21.67% 31
Prithvi Information Solutions registered a growth of 21.67% in net profit for the quarter ended September 2007, helped by robust sales growth. During the quarter, the company saw a rise in net profit to Rs 269.54 million from Rs 221.54 million in the same quarter of the previous year. The company posted diluted earnings per share of Rs 12.03 in the quarter ended September 2007.

IVRCL net up 2.26 times in Sep`07 qtr
substantial 2.26 times growth in net profit to Rs 352.51 million for the quarter ended September 2007 as compared with Rs 155.67 million for the corresponding quarter last year.

Power Grid reports Q2 earnings of Rs 3,712.20 mn
Newly listed India`s biggest power transmission company, Power Grid Corporation of India based in New Delhi reported a net profit of Rs 3,712.20 million in the quarter ended September 07. The total income of the company was Rs 11,081 million for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2007.Power Grid operates most of India`s interstate and inter-regional electric power transmission system (ISTS). It operates 61,875 circuit kilometres of electrical transmission lines and 106 electrical substations as on Jun. 30, 2007. In fiscal 2007, it transmitted nearly 298 billion units of electricity, representing nearly 45% of all the power generated in India. It has completed 101 transmission projects aggregating nearly Rs 251.81 billion. Presently, it has 45 transmission projects under various stages of implementation as on Jun. 30, 2007.

Hyderabad Ind net up 68.5% in Q2
Hyderabad Industries posted a 68.57% rise in net profit at Rs 11.80 million for the quarter ended September 2007 as compared to Rs 7.00 million for the quarter ended September 2006. Total Income increased 6.89% to Rs 949.80 million for the quarter ended September 2007, from Rs 1,015.30 million for the quarter ended September 2006.

Neyveli Lignite posted a 40.98% rise in net profit at Rs 2,310.40 million for the quarter ended September 2007 as compared to Rs 1,638.80 million for the quarter ended September 2006.
Total Income has increased 20.19% to Rs 8820.80 million for the quarter ended September 2007, from Rs 7339.00 million for the quarter ended September 2006.
Net Sales rose to Rs 7,277.70 million for the quarter as compared to Rs 6,079.20 million a year ago.

Aurobindo Pharma net climbs 84% for Sep`07 qtr
Hyderabad-based Aurobindo Pharma, (Q, N,C,F)* leading API manufacturer, posted a robust 84.70% growth in net profit to Rs 1,009.20 million for the September 2007 quarter as compared with Rs 546.40 million in the corresponding quarter last year.
Net sales for the quarter grew 27.41% to Rs 6,116.00 million, as compared with Rs 4,800 for the quarter ended September 2006.

Hindalco Q2 net rises 7.56%
Leading manufacturer of aluminium and copper, Hindalco Industries registered a marginal growth of 7.56% in net profit for the quarter ended September 2007. During the quarter, the company saw a rise in net profit to Rs 6,428 million from Rs 5,976 million in the same quarter of the previous year. Earnings per share for the quarter fell 4.62% Rs 5.78 compared with the same quarter previous year

Videocon Industries net up 19.03% in Sep`07 qtr
Videocon Industries registered a 19.03% growth in net profit to Rs 2,482.30 million for the quarter ended September 2007, as against Rs 2,085.40 million for the same quarter, a year ago.
Net sales rose 10.56% to Rs 22,753.80 million in the quarter, from Rs 20,581.10 million for the same quarter, last year.
